EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
This Act amends the Produce (Enforcement of Export Standards) Act Cap. P32. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 by reviewing the penalties imposed under the Act.

PRODUCE (ENFORCEMENT OF EXPORT STANDARDS) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2016
An Act to amend the Produce (Enforcement of Export Standards)Act Cap. P32, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 by reviewing the penalties imposed under the Act; and for related matters.
ENACTED by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria—
Amendment of Cap. P32 LFN, 2004
- The Produce (Enforcement of Export Standards) Act. Cap. P32. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 (in this Act referred to as “the Principal Act”) is amended as set out in this Act.
Amendment of section 7 (1)
- Section 7 (i) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting for the expression “N200”, in line 2, the expression, “N20,000”
Amendment of section 8 (2).
- Section 8 (2) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting for the expression “N200” in line 2, the expression, “N20,000”
Amendment of section 10 (1)
- Section 10 (1) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting for the expression ”N400” in line 3 the expression, “N30,000”
Amendment of section 16 (1) (h)
- Section 16 (1) (h) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting the expression “400” in line 5, the expression “ N30,000”.
Amendment of section 17.
- Section 17 of the Principal Act is amended by for the expression “N400” in line 4, the expression “N30,000”
Citation.
- This Act may be cited as the Produce (Enforcement of Export Standards) (Amendment) Act, 2016.
