IRRUA SPECIALIST TEACHING HOSPITAL ACT
An Act to rename the Specialist Hospital, Irrua as the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital and to establish a management board for the hospital.

- Change of name of Specialist Hospital, Irrua
As from the commencement of this Act, the Specialist Hospital Irrua, Okpebho Local Government Area of Edo State (in this Act referred to as “the Specialist Hospital”) shall be known and referred to as the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (in this Act referred to as “the hospital”).
- Board of management of the hospital
There shall be established for the management of the hospital, a board of management to be known as the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital Board of Management (in this Act referred to as “the Board”) which shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in its corporate name and may, for and in connection with the purposes of this Act, acquire, hold and dispose of movable and immovable property.
- Composition and functions of the Board
The composition, functions and powers of the Board established under section 2 of this Act shall be as provided for in the University Teaching Hospitals (Reconstitution of Boards, etc.) Act.

- Vesting of rights, etc.
(1) All the assets and liabilities held or incurred by or on behalf of the Specialist Hospital shall by virtue of this Act and without further assurance vest in the hospital renamed by this Act and shall be held by it for the purposes of the hospital.
(2) All agreements, contracts, deeds and other instruments to which the Specialist Hospital was a party shall, so far as possible and subject to any necessary modifications, have effect as if the hospital renamed by this Act had been a party thereto in place of the Specialist Hospital.
- Short title
This Act may be cited as the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital Act.
