A LAW TO CREATE A LOGO FOR KADUNA STATE
COMMENCEMENT (1st September 2015)
BE IT ENACTED by the House of Assembly of Kaduna State as follows:
Short Title
- This Law may be cited as the Kaduna State Logo Law, 2015. Short Title
Commencement
- This Law shall come into operation on the 1st day of September 2015.
Interpretation
- In this Law unless the context otherwise requires: Interpretation
“Government” includes Local Governments in Kaduna State;
“Government establishments” includes Bureaux, Public Institutions and Colleges, Schools and all Institutions and or bodies established by Kaduna State Government;
“Logo” means the official insignia and symbol of the Kaduna State Government as shown in the Schedule to this Law; and
“State” means Kaduna State of Nigeria.
Creation of Official Logo
- There is hereby created for Kaduna State an Official Logo as set out in the Schedule to this Law.
Official Communication
- From the date of commencement of this Law, all Official Communications, Correspondences and transactions by Government Establishments shall bear the Official Logo.
Validity of the Logo
- Any official document and or correspondence of Government that does not bear the Official Logo, shall be invalid.
Savings
- Notwithstanding the provision of Section 6, all official documents and or correspondences of Government issued or done before the commencement of this Law shall be deemed to have been done pursuant to this Law.
Strict Compliance to this Law
- All persons in the employment of Government shall ensure strict compliance with the provisions of this Law.
Features for the Logo
- The distinctive features of the Logo are 0as follows:
(i) Motto: “Work and Worship”
(ii) Green Vegetation: Agriculture, Economy, Abundance and Conservation
(iii) Crocodile: Strength, Resilience, Indestructibility and Ancestry
(iv) Cattle: Fertility, Abundance and Nourishment
(v) Nok: History, Culture, Arts and Tourism
(vi) Crop: Agriculture and Economy
(vii) Water Body: Life, Purity and Recreation
(viii) Book: Education, Knowledge, Centre of Learning
(ix) Northern Knot: History, Tradition and Culture
(x) Kakaki: Culture and History
(xi) Banner: History, Way of Life
(xii) Decorated Black Horse: Independence, Culture, History and Tradition
(xiii) Shield: Safety and Protection

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of this Law is to create an official Logo for Kaduna State, so as to reflect its key sectors and cultural heritage.
